Leadership Experiences and Supporting Programs
The Institute for Men of Principle
The Institute is an intense five-day experience designed to guide 60 undergraduate Betas from across North America through a journey of fraternal values, leadership development, brotherhood building, and service learning. Sessions are held annually in Oxford, Ohio at Miami University. Scholarships are available to attend.
Beta Wilderness Challenge
During a six-day journey in the mountains of Utah, ten undergraduates from different Beta chapters move through a powerful exploration of our Ritual and challenging outdoor elements. Participants learn hard skills such as backpacking and hiking, rock climbing, camp craft, and mountain navigation. The Beta Theta Pi Foundation offers numerous sessions each summer. Scholarships are available to attend.
The Peter F. Greiner Leadership College
Leadership College is the undergraduate track at the General Convention, and is open to all Beta collegians. Leadership College is designed to provide an environment where participants are educated on the meaning of the Fraternity's values and principles. Participants are challenged to assess, both as individuals and at the
chapter level, whether they are living by the founding principles of Beta Theta Pi. The track is focused on chapter recruitment, new member education and accountability. Participants meet Betas from across North America while participating in all other General Convention activities. Scholarships are available to attend.
The Miller Nichols Chapter Presidents Leadership Academy
This experience concentrates on personal and leadership development to assist all of Beta's chapter and colony presidents to become the most capable leaders possible. Presidents will; Learn to become more capable and effective leaders, develop personal goals centered around academics, service and meaningful personal relationships, design a framework for success for their chapters, learn to practice leadership in their chapters and in daily life using the principles and obligations of Beta Theta Pi, develop deeper, more collaborative relationships with university professionals, chapter presidents, General Fraternity volunteers and Administrative Office staff members, share "best practices" of leadership programs that have worked on campuses across North America, and review minimum expectations of all Beta Theta Pi chapters.
The General Fraternity Officer Leadership Summit
The experience will provide an opportunity for all district chiefs and regional directors to meet annually in Oxford to focus on the future of Beta Theta Pi. These loyal volunteers of our great and good Fraternity will concentrate on student development theory, today's campus trends, adult learning and working effectively with college students. The Leadership Summit will provide unity and measurable action for all General Fraternity Officers to gain fresh ideas that will assist their respective chapters and colonies.
Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI)
Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute is a five-day coeducational and interfraternal institute which focuses on personal and chapter values, leadership development, interfraternalism, team building, and the art of building community. Beta Theta Pi offers numerous scholarships for Beta undergraduates to attend.
Futures Quest
Geared toward Betas who have been initiated for one year or less, Futures Quest is a 21Ú2-day expedition focusing on leadership and personal development in an outdoor, conference-style environment. A variety of outdoor recreational opportunities are provided including a high ropes course. Scholarships are available to attend.
